Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 2026

Pluvia Gratiae Mental Health Foundation ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the PG Habit Campaign web application (the "Service"). We operate in compliance with the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

1. Information We Collect

To provide and improve our Service, we collect the following types of information:

  • Personal Identifiable Information (PII): When you register, we collect your Full Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and Gender.
  • App Usage Data: We track the specific habits you choose to monitor on your dashboard, the dates you mark them as 'Done', and the resulting streak milestones.
  • Technical Data: We may collect standard technical information, such as IP addresses, browser types, and session timestamps, to ensure the security and functionality of the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

  • To Provide the Service: Enabling you to log in, track habits, generate your visual analytics, and calculate streak challenges.
  • Account Security: Verifying your identity and protecting against unauthorized access using secure password hashing (`password_hash`).
  • Foundation Research: We may use strictly anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., "80% of our users track mindfulness") to assess the impact of our mental health campaigns. Your individual identity will never be attached to this research.
  • Communication: To send you necessary account updates, password resets, or important changes to this Policy.

3. Data Protection and Security

We implement strict technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Passwords are cryptographically hashed, and database access is strictly limited to authorized Foundation personnel.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to marketers, advertisers, or third-party data brokers.

We only share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With trusted third-party hosting or database providers (e.g., cPanel, AWS) strictly for the purpose of operating the Service.
  • Legal Obligations: If required by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pluvia Gratiae, its users, or the public.

5. Your Data Rights

Under applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Update or correct your profile information via your Dashboard Profile page.
  • Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request the complete deletion of your account, habit logs, and personal data from our active databases.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information provided below. We will process your request within 30 days.
